Fiction (novels/stories from the author’s imagination)
Reference (books used for research and are often part of a set)
Non-Fiction (books written by the author with the intent to provide the reader information about a topic)
Biographies (books written about the life of a person)
Audio Books (books one can listen to via cassette, CD, or mp3 player)
Copy Machine (free copies may be made of materials needed for school)
Emergency Exit (only use this exit for emergencies)
Book Drop (a convenient way to return checked-out items)
Sign-in Area (students must sign the guest book upon entering the library and present staff with a pass when visiting during class time)
Check-out Computers at Front Counter (barcode number on a student’s ASB card is scanned to check out books)
Library Office (used by library staff to store items and process materials)
Reference Desk and Computer (the desk of Mrs. Galinatti, ARHS’ teacher-librarian)
Study Tables (students working individually or in a group may use these tables to study, read, or work on class assignments)
Printers (students may print materials, assignments, research articles, and etc. needed for class)
Reading Chairs
New Book Display (features new items purchased for the library)
Psychologist’s Office
Speech Pathologist’s Office and Media Room (used to create media projects like podcasts, movies, etc.
Latino/Spanish Titles (books written in Spanish as well as English titles translated into Spanish)
Computers (students may use the computers from 6:45 a.m. each day and 3:30 p.m. each day except Thurs.)
Laptop Cart (15 laptops to check-out for use in the library)
Picture Books (stories and information books under 64 pages with pictures on virtually every page)
